Money from Upromise

I signed up for Upromise back in 2005. Over the past 6 years, I have earned exactly $13.60 to benefit my kids college fund. Hmmmm….. I don’t think it’s going to grow much faster at this rate. That’s why I’m thrilled to discover that I can request that money as a check!

From the Upromise website:
Can I withdraw my earnings from my Upromise account without transferring them to a qualified 529 Account, Sallie Mae High Yield Savings Account or your eligible Sallie Mae serviced loan, and if so, how?

You can withdraw your Upromise contributions at any time during your membership, subject to a $10 minimum withdrawal requirement. You can submit a check request by:

1. Login to your Upromise account
2. Go to the My Account section
3. Click on the Request a Check link located in the left menu
4. Enter the amount (above the minimum required) you wish to withdraw from your account

For some people, this is a great resource to save for college. For me – not so much!
